Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026

Introduction

Gold Price Live ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). This policy applies to all users of the App, including users in the European Economic Area (EEA).

Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

Advisiant AS
Org nr 936 993 478
Sandnes, Norway
[email protected]

Information We Collect

We are committed to minimizing data collection. Our App is designed to work without collecting personal information. The App does not require user accounts or login.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Precise location data
  • Financial information
  • Contacts or address book data
  • Health or fitness data
  • User-generated content (photos, messages)

Information Collected by Third-Party SDKs

While the App itself does not collect personal data, the third-party SDKs integrated in the App (Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, and Google Analytics) may automatically collect certain technical information:

  • Device identifiers (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS)
  • Device type, model, and operating system version
  • IP address (used for coarse location and fraud prevention)
  • App usage events and interactions
  • Crash reports and performance data
  • General geographic region (country/region level, not precise location)

This data is not linked to your identity and is collected in aggregate form.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Consent — For personalized advertising. We obtain your consent before serving personalized ads via a consent management dialog (for EEA/UK users). You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate Interest — For analytics and crash reporting, to improve App performance and fix bugs. We have assessed that our legitimate interest does not override your rights or freedoms.

How We Use Information

Any information collected is used solely to:

  • Improve App performance and stability
  • Fix bugs and technical issues
  • Understand general usage patterns (anonymized)
  • Display advertisements (personalized or non-personalized, depending on your consent)

We do not sell your data to third parties.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), part of Google Firebase, to understand how users interact with our App. This helps us improve functionality and user experience. GA4 may collect:

  • App instance ID and session data
  • App usage events and interactions
  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • App version and crash data
  • General geographic region (not precise location)

This data is collected in aggregate form and does not personally identify you. Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

Opting Out of Analytics

You can limit analytics data collection through your device settings:

  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > disable "Share iPhone Analytics"
  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset or delete your Advertising ID

For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Our App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob uses cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. To show relevant ads, AdMob may collect and use certain information:

  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
  • Device information and technical identifiers
  • IP address (for general location estimate and fraud prevention)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
  • App performance and diagnostic data

Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

With your consent, AdMob may show personalized ads based on your interests and usage patterns. If you do not consent or withdraw consent, the App will display non-personalized (contextual) ads only. Non-personalized ads may still use IP address for coarse location and frequency capping.

Consent for EEA/UK Users

For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we present a consent dialog before loading personalized ads. You may choose to accept or decline personalized advertising. If you decline, only non-personalized ads will be shown. You can change your consent choice at any time through the App settings.

Your Advertising Choices

You can also opt out of personalized advertising at the device level:

  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or enable "Limit Ad Tracking"
  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization

For more information, see Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.

Advertising (Meta Audience Network)

Our App also displays advertisements through Meta Audience Network (formerly Facebook Audience Network). Meta may collect and use certain information to serve and measure ads:

  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
  • Device information and technical identifiers
  • IP address (for general location estimate and fraud prevention)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

Meta may use this data to serve personalized ads based on your activity across Meta's products and other apps and websites. If you have opted out of personalized advertising via your device settings or the App's consent dialog, Meta will serve non-personalized ads only.

Managing Your Meta Ad Preferences

You can control how Meta uses your data for advertising:

  • Visit Meta Ad Preferences to manage your ad settings
  • Use your device's opt-out settings (described in the Google AdMob section above)

For more information, see Meta's Privacy Policy.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS 14.5 and later, Apple requires apps to request permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites. When you first open the App, you may see an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," we will not access your IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) and only non-personalized ads will be shown. You can change this setting at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Third-Party Services

Our App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies. These services may collect and process data as described in their respective policies:

We require these third parties to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Data Storage and Security

Your preferences and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers. Price data is fetched from third-party financial data providers and is not stored permanently. All data transmitted between the App and third-party services is encrypted in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security).

Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data directly, there is no personal data stored on our servers to retain. For data collected by third-party SDKs:

  • Google Analytics: Data is retained for 14 months, then automatically deleted
  • Google AdMob: Ad interaction data is retained according to Google's data retention policies
  • Meta Audience Network: Ad interaction data is retained according to Meta's data retention policies
  • Local data: App preferences stored on your device are deleted when you uninstall the App

International Data Transfers

Data collected by Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, and Google Analytics may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Google and Meta rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the legal mechanism for these transfers. For more information, see Google's data transfer frameworks.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right of access — You may request information about whether we process your personal data and, if so, receive a copy.
  • Right to rectification — You may request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to erasure — You may request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restrict processing — You may request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — You may object to processing based on legitimate interest, including for direct marketing purposes.
  • Right to withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent (e.g., personalized ads), you may withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

Since the App does not collect personal data directly or maintain user accounts, many of these rights are effectively exercised through device-level controls (resetting your Advertising ID, opting out of tracking, or uninstalling the App).

Data Deletion

You can delete all data associated with the App at any time:

  • Local app data: Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored preferences and settings.
  • Advertising ID: Reset or delete your device Advertising ID through your device settings to disassociate future data from past activity.
  • Google data: Visit Google's Data & Privacy settings to manage data Google has collected.

You may also contact us at [email protected] to request data deletion on your behalf.

Supervisory Authority

If you are in the EEA and believe that your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our lead supervisory authority is:

Datatilsynet (Norwegian Data Protection Authority)
www.datatilsynet.no

Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in certain EEA countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete such information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or our website.
